Person Assaulted With Rock At Secaucus Movie Theatre: Police
A 16-year-old Union City resident was arrested at the Regal Secaucus ShowPlace theatre in Secaucus for assaulting a person on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 7, authorities said. At 9:26 p.m., officers responded to the movie theatre at 650 Plaza Dr. for a report of a dispute that turned into an assault, Secaucus police said. Police then arrested the 16-year-old for an assault with a rock, charging him with a aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, officers said. Fairview police arrested a Newark man who they said threatened to shoot a local resident with his own gun during what the victim thought would be the sale of a $5,700 gold chain on Facebook Marketplace. The 44-year-old victim told police he was contacted by an “Alvaro Robles” after posting the 14k gold Cuban chain for sale last October, Capt. Michael Martic said. Food Delivery Driver Turns Tables On Serial Robber, Paterson Police Say
A Haledon man who had deliveries sent to a Paterson location so he could swipe cash from drivers had the tables turned when a would-be victim overpowered him and called police, authorities said. In doing so, the driver for a Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant in Totowa helped city police crack a string of thefts from drivers from various local eateries.
