Man Shot In Jersey City Won't Tell Police What Happened: Officials A man was shot in Jersey City on the late evening of Sunday, June 23, authorities said. At 10:30 p.m., a man walked into Jersey City Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his ankle, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokesman for the mayor's office said. He was shot in the area of Stegman Avenue, Wallace-Scalfione said. The man is refusing to provide other pertinent information and the investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Arley Ulloa struck Ralph Haynes, a 55-year-old Jersey City resident, with his vehicle at Stegman Avenue and Garfield Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Ulloa left the scene while Haynes was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he eventually succumbed to his injuries, Suarez said. 55-Year-Old Man Dead In Hit-Run Jersey City Crash A 55-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Jersey City on Sunday, March 5. Ralph Haynes was found near Stegman and Garfield avenues around 12:30 a.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene and the victim was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:38 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip.
