Former Roseland Police Chief Dies At 91: 'Loss Will Be Felt Throughout Community'
Walter Critchett, who served the Roseland community as a police officer and later police chief for 40 years, died at the age of 91, the borough announced. After serving in the Navy, Critchett joined the Roseland Police Department in 1956. Lifelong West Caldwell resident Bryan Norton died suddenly on Monday, July 11. He was 24 years old. Bryan graduated from James Caldwell High School in 2016, where he played varsity baseball and football. and Caldwell University in 2020, having earned his bachelor's degree in sports management, his obituary says. He landed his dream job working as a partnership activation coordinator for Major League Baseball, and previously worked for the New Jersey Devils and the New York Yankees. Penn State Grad, 30, Killed In Fiery Crash On Garden State Parkway
A 30-year-old West Orange man died in a crash on the Garden State Parkway earlier this week. Craig Waldron was heading north when his GMC SUV ran off the roadway to the left, went down an embankment and struck several trees in Bloomfield Tuesday morning, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The vehicle went up in flames near milepost 153.7 around 11:15 a.m., and Waldron was pronounced dead.
