One of a group of specially-trained Jersey City police officers shot and killed a knife-wielding city man after he charged at them in his apartment, authorities said. An EMS unit was the first to respond to 2:15 p.m. call at the Randolph Avenue residence in the Bergen-Lafayette section of the city on Sunday, Aug. 27, according to a release issued late Monday by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin. Police in Newark are seeking the public's help in locating a woman who has been missing since Feb. 15. Authorities are asking the public's help in locating a missing Newark man. Shawn Valentine Hartfield, 23, lives with family in Newark and was last seen going to the store at Eastern Parkway and Mt. Vernon Place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said in a release. He reportedly suffers from Schizophrenia and depression, Ambrose said. Authorities are seeking the public's help locating a 47-year-old Franklin man who went missing after a car crash in Cumberland County.
