Police ‘Astonished’ As Friend Picks Up Hunterdon County Chase Suspect In Freshly Stolen Audi Officers say they were left “astonished” after a friend was driving an Audi that had just been stolen when arriving at the station to pick up a police chase suspect in Hunterdon County. Readington Township Police saw two vehicles, a dark-colored Audi and a Honda Accord, traveling closely together on Main Street in Whitehouse Station just before 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, a press release said. Mismatched License Plates Lead To Gun Arrest In Newark: Sheriff A Georgia man was arrested at Weequahic Park in Newark on weapons offenses, including possession of illegal ammunition, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said.  Coy Jones, 64, of Calhoun, was parked on the Rt. 22 service road around 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Sheriff's officers approached his Ford pickup when they noticed the vehicle had a Texas license plate in the front and a Georgia plate in the back, Fontoura said.  Calhoun told officers he had a loaded .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in a driver's side door compartment.
