A driver and three passengers were hurt after an SUV flipped over the center median on Route 80, authorities said. The Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department was on its way to assist with a commercial alarm on Walsh Drive alongside the Rainbow Lakes Volunteer Fire Department when it was redirected to the rollover crash on the eastbound side of the highway in Parsippany just after 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 28. A 57-year-old Short Hills Tesla driver died in a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer on Route 24 in Summit Thursday, May 19, authorities said. David M. Baum was traveling in the right lane on the eastbound side of the highway when he was struck by a Volvo tractor trailer, causing a chain-reaction crash near milepost 9 just after 2 p.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car at a notoriously dangerous Atlantic County intersection, authorities said. Driver, 30, Dies In Route 24 Crash
A 30-year-old man died in a crash on Route 24 early Friday, Feb. 4 in Union County, authorities said. Alexander Marrero's vehicle was heading eastbound onto the I-78 ramp when his Mazda 3 veered off the left side of the road around 1:15 a.m. in Springfield, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said. The car struck the end of a guard rail on the eastbound ramp and Marrero, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial and unconfirmed reports say the driver suffered a severely severed leg.

3-Car Crash Causes Fluid Leak On Route 46
A three-car crash caused a fluid leak on Route 46 Tuesday morning, authorities said. The vehicles collided and began leaking fluid near Route 46 and Boulevard in Mountain Lakes just after 7:35 a.m., the local volunteer fire department said. Crew members worked to absorb the leaking fluids and requested a towing company to the scene, which was cleared in about 25 minutes. “Thankfully no injuries or entrapment were reported,” the department said. Sparking wires downed by the overnight storm Monday closed Sylvan Avenue in Englewood Cliffs in both directions and melted some of the roadway, authorities said. 2021 Has Been A Very Deadly Year For NJ Vehicle Crashes
We haven't even finished the busy holiday season, yet 2021 already is the deadliest year for vehicle crashes in recent years, authorities said. UPDATE: New Jersey State Police counted 652 crashes and 682 deaths so far in 2021 as of Monday Dec. 27 at 10 a.m., as reported here. That compares to 549 vehicle crashes resulting in 587 deaths in all of 2020, Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said. In these crashes, 171 drivers tested positive for alcohol and 101 were positive for drugs, Shill said. In 2019, there were 524 vehicle crashes resulting in 558 deaths, Shill said. Of thos…
