New Forecast Map: 4 Inches Of Snow Now Projected For Parts Of NJ, PA
In a newly-released forecast map, parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania are expected to get up to four inches of snow in this second winter storm of the week. The new map shows between 3 and 4 inches could fall along the Jersey Shore, in South Jersey, and in the Reading/Greater Philadelphia areas in the storm expected to begin late Friday, Feb. 16. Dump Truck Rolls On Treacherous Stretch Of Route 287, Third Crash This Week
UPDATE: A dump truck rolled over on Route 287 in what was the third crash along the same notorious stretch of road in less than 36 hours. Mahwah police, firefighters and EMS, along with a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, were among the responders to the rainy Wednesday morning mishap on the northbound highway near the New York State border shortly before 8 a.m. Oct. 5. Bicyclist, 71, Injured In Fall At State Border In Old Tappan
A 71-year-old Rockland bicyclist was hospitalized after a nasty fall at the state border in Old Tappan, authorities said. The victim "hit an uneven patch of pavement in the roadway" near the corner of Old Tappan and Semino Road and fell off her bicycle" around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Police Lt. Robert W. Wacht said. The Tappan, NY, woman -- who suffered a cut under her right eye and road rash on her shoulder and elbow -- couldn't recall falling, the lieutenant said. UPDATE: One victim was confirmed dead and westbound Route 3 in East Rutherford was temporarily closed Wednesday morning following what was the most serious in a series of crashes on icy North Jersey roads. Here's a listing of incidents.
