'Suspicious Death': Human Remains Found In Union County Authorities in Union County are investigating last week's discovery of human remains. Plainfield police responded to reports of the remains found near the 800 block of West Front Street in Plainfield around 10 a.m. Dec. 24, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. $10K Reward Offered In Fatal Shooting That Killed 1, Seriously Injured Another A $10,000 reward is being offered for information in a Plainfield shooting that left one person dead and another seriously injured Thursday night, authorities said Friday. Police responding to gunshots on the 400 block of Grant Avenue found Cory Johnson and another man with gunshot wounds around 8:30 p.m., Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess jointly said. Johnson, 30, was pronounced dead while the other victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment -- and has since been listed in critical but stable condition, authorities said. …

Cocaine, Gun, $15K Seized In Plainfield Bust, Prosecutor Says A new task force created by the Union County Prosecutor's Office assisted Plainfield police in an investigation that authorities said turned up a large amount of cocaine and led to one arrest.  Detective Michael Metz of the Plainfield Police Division last week led a team that executed a search warrant last week at an apartment in the 800 block of East Front Street.
