A Dollar General in Newark was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday, July 21, authorities said.
At 8:29 a.m., a man entered Dollar General at 420 Springfield Avenue through the right side rear entrance and demanded cash from the cashier, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The suspect gestured he had a handgun and assaulted the employee on her left side, Fragé said.

Michael Joseph Downey, a Norwood resident who produced the well-reviewed movie "Roadie" and popular television commercials died on Sunday, March 18 at the age of 57, according to his obituary.
Downey and his wife Christen founded Hero Content, which produced commercials for Nike and Proctor and Gamble, like the popular "Dawn Saves Wildlife" commercials.
Downey assisted with charitable campaigns for Hackensack University Health Network, the PAL Wrestling Program and Family Promise of Bergen County, his obituary reads.

Missing Morris County Man With Dementia, 67, Walked Away From Home, Police Say
Seen him? Authorities are searching for a missing Morris County man with dementia who may have walked away from his home.
Mansfield Creighton, 67, walked away from 430 Western Ave. in Morristown between 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, and 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 7, the Morris Township Police Department said.
Creighton has been diagnosed with dementia, police say.
Creighton was wearing a black t-shirt with gold lettering, gray and green pants, and black Nike sneakers at the time of his disappearance, authorities said.
He does not have a wallet or cell phone on him.

Feds: Duo Caught With Ar-style Rifle, Clothing Used In Camden County Gas Station Robberies
Federal agents captured two men following a pair of Camden County gunpoint gas station robberies, authorities said.
Paul Rogers, 27, and Kamau Bradshaw, 19, were both spotted after each robbery returning to a Camden residence with a large duffel bag, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said Monday.
Authorities armed with a warrant searched the residence and found an AR-style rifle believed used in both holdups, the duffel bag and other pieces of evidence, Honig said.
