Woman Struck, Killed By Freight Train In Dumont A woman was struck and killed by a freight train Saturday morning in Dumont. The victim, wearing a pink sweater, was struck by the southbound CSX train just north of the New Milford Avenue crossing near West Shore Avenue around 10 a.m., responders said. An ALS unit pronounced her dead at the scene soon after. The relatively short train -- for CSX--  wasn't blocking any crossings, contrary to reports, witnesses said. None of the injuries appeared life-threatening, responders said. A minivan driver had stopped to let the pedestrians cross at the corner of New Milford Avenue and Pine Street when the vehicle was rear-ended by a truck around 7 p.m. Tuesday, responders said. Police: Armed Uber Eats Driver Captured After Dumont Carjacking Police captured a gun-toting Uber Eats deliveryman who carjacked a driver in Dumont and then crashed during Wednesday night's snowstorm, authorities said Thursday.
