A man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a train in Morris County Sunday night, authorities said. The man was struck by the Morris & Essex train 6933 at the Martin Luther King Avenue Bridge in Morristown around 6:40 p.m., NJ Transit spokesperson Jim Smith told DailyVoice.com. The train had departed New York Penn Station at 5:11 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 6:56 p.m., Smith said. A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized after the vehicle was struck by a train in Morris County Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed. Morris & Essex Line train 851 hit the trailer at the crossing at the Stanhope Waterloo Valley Road in Mount Olive around 11:20 a.m., NJ Transit spokesperson Mariluz Garcia-Diaz told DailyVoice.com. Man Struck, Killed By Train In Asbury Park
A man was struck and killed by a train Sunday night in Asbury Park, authorities said. The man was struck along the North Jersey Coast Line tracks near First Avenue around 9:55 p.m., New Jersey Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. New Jersey Transit police are investigating what train may have been involved. North Jersey Coast Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Long Branch and Bay Head. New Jersey Transit police were on scene leading the investigation.

NJ Transit IDs Man Killed By Light Rail Train
Authorities have identified the man killed by a New Jersey Transit River Line light rail train. Denis Javier Mencia Sanchez, 30, of Riverside Township in Burlington County was struck at about 10:40 p.m. Friday near the Wood Lane grade crossing, Burlington County, according to New Jersey Transit spokesman Everett Merrill. New Jersey Transit and Edgewater Park police responded to the scene. There were no passengers aboard at the time of the fatal crash since the train was not in service, Merrill said. New Jersey Transit police are leading the investigation.

A River Edge garden apartment complex was partially evacuated Thursday afternoon after an inert pipe bomb was discovered behind a nearby bus stop, authorities said. A girl was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Tuesday in North Jersey. The Morris & Essex line train was heading to Dover in Morris County from New York Penn Station when it struck the girl at 12:15 p.m. in Maplewood, NJ Transit officials said.
