ShopRite Shoplifters Arrested In Separate Bergen County Incidents, Police Say
Two Bergen County residents were arrested in separate shoplifting incidents at a local ShopRite, police said.
The first incident at the ShopRite store in Lyndhurst occurred on Wednesday, Dec.18, around 4 p.m., when Frank Giuffrida, 49, was seen by store loss prevention staff placing multiple items from his shopping cart into his backpack, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. He then headed to the self-checkout register, where he failed to scan several items before leaving the store, police said.

A Lyndhurst man was arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing in Hoboken, authorities announced Thursday.
Andre Mateus, 26, stabbed a 22-year-old North Bergen man around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
Mateus was arrested with help from Lyndhurst police Wednesday, on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses, authorities said. He was being held in the Hudson County Jail.

Man Who Lives Near Park Ridge Town Pool Charged With Producing Child Porn
A divorced, unemployed man who lives up the street from the Park Ridge Municipal Pool was arrested Wednesday and charged with producing online child porn, authorities said.
Richard Osinski, 61, “used the Internet to view, download, and possess more than 1,000 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Osinski, of Colony Avenue, was also “coordinating the production of sexually explicit online depictions of children,” the prosecutor said.

Girl, 16, Seriously Injured, Elizabeth Man Charged In Stolen Car Crash At Passaic River Bridge
UPDATE: An Elizabeth man was charged with assault by auto and child endangerment after he crashed a stolen car into a Lyndhurst gas station canopy, seriously injuring his 16-year-old female passenger, following a police chase, authorities said.
Byron L. Hernandez, an 18-year-old laborer, crashed the 2019 Honda Civic stolen shortly after 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
North Arlington police began chasing the vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Elizabeth, on River Road but terminated the pursuit after speeds reached 100 miles an hour, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
