Little Ferry Police Capture Fugitive Ex-Con Wanted In Cold-Blooded Newark Killing
A fugitive wanted for shooting and killing a man on a Newark street more than a year ago was captured by Little Ferry police who said he'd been hiding out in a local motel.
Dennys Santana, 28, had been on the run since the out-of-state victim was shot point-blank in the head up the street from Santana's Highland Avenue apartment on Aug. 20, 2020, authorities said.
The victim, Milan Madison, 28, of Hyattsville, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

Little Ferry PD: Potential Tragedy Avoided, Driver Charged After Speeding Recklessly By School
A suspended Little Ferry motorist deliberately got into his car and drove away from police, blowing a stop sign and a light before speeding past a school on the wrong side of the road, authorities said.
It was a blessing that no one was hurt.
It began after Khalid Jackson, 38, came to headquarters Monday to file a complaint against police after getting a summons last week for driving on the suspended list, Police Chief James Walters said.

Found: Missing Elderly NJ Couple Found Safe, Sound After Journey
UPDATE: A missing elderly couple took a long route to return to Bergen County, but they were found safe and sound Saturday morning, authorities said.
Teaneck police responding to a call of a vehicle stuck in the mud behind the Teaneck Garden Club near Overpeck Park found Lea Asala, 89, outside their SUV and her husband, Anthony Asala, 91, inside around 9 a.m. Saturday.
Lea Asala was without shoes and her husband was a bit confused as he searched for the vehicle's paperwork, but they were otherwise OK.
