Irvington Man, Garfield Woman Busted for Having Sex In Public: Newark PD
A 44-year-old Garfield woman and a 39-year-old Irvington man were recently arrested for having sex in public multiple times in Newark, authorities said.
Melissa Barrett and Christopher Turner were arrested following multiple acts of lewdness that occurred between February 2024 and August 2024, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
On Sunday, Feb. 24, at 8:30 a.m., two juveniles reported they observed a man and woman having sex in public on the 200 block of Ferry Street, Fragé said. A photo of the couple having sex was provided to police, Fragé said.

A 27-year-old Newark man was arrested on Friday, April 26 for flashing his genitals to passing vehicles in Hackettstown, authorities said.
On Tuesday, March 5 at 10:37 a.m., Jared Aponte flashed his genitals to vehicles at Valentine Street and Jefferson Street, Hackettstown police said.
On Saturday, April 20, at 12:35 p.m., police responded to Hackettstown High School after a woman said Aponte made a sexual comment to her while she was sitting in her car in the junior parking lot, police said. The woman began to yell and scream and fled the area, police said.

Prosecutor: Hunterdon County Man, 26, Charged With Sexual Assault, Child Endangerment
A 26-year-old Readington man was being held in the Warren County Jail on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness, authorities said.
Jose Ramos-Ramirez was arrested April 10 on second, third and fourth degree charges, respectively, Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams, Acting Chief of Detectives Frank R. Crisologo, and Readington Township Police Chief Joseph Greco said Monday.
The alleged crimes occurred in Readington Township, Williams said.

Police: Man In Woman's Wig, Dress, Heels Exposes Himself To Child At Fort Lee Hudson River Park
A man dressed in women's clothing exposed himself at the Ross Dock picnic area in the shadow of the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, said police who arrested him.
Benjamin Lam, 60, of Cresskill was wearing a red wig, black dress and high heels when Palisades Interstate Parkway police arrested him Wednesday afternoon, PIP Police Chief Steven Shallop said.
