A 42-year-old East Orange resident was arrested and charged with pointing a gun at a woman while working as a sanitation worker in Newark on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 12, authorities said. At 7:16 a.m., police responded to South 14th Street and Springfield Avenue on a report of a man with a gun, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. A 23-year-old East Orange man was sentenced to more than four years in prison on Tuesday, Oct. 1, after admitting to stealing checks from the mail, authorities said. From January 2020 to March 2022, Baba Diakite, Nasir Johnson and others conspired to steal checks from the mail in communities across New Jersey, US Attorney Philip Sellinger said. Frank Sanchez has been reinstated as principal at Columbia High School after a grand jury declined to indict him on charges of child endangerment. Jersey City Man Stole From Union City Homeowner's Association: Prosecutor
A 39-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged on Monday, June 17 with stealing more than $150,000 from a homeowner's association in Union City, authorities said. Eric Li misused funds from the homeowner's association for personal gain while he served as board president from 2017 to 2023, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
