NJ Couple Who Starved Children, Inflicted Years Of 'Extreme Punishments' Sentenced To Probation A Morris County couple was sentenced to probation after they admitted to years of locking their home refrigerator and forcing their children to stand in a corner for up to eight hours at a time as a form of punishment. John Flanagan, 35 and his wife, Joanna, both of Netcong, were sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation for child cruelty and neglect by Judge Stephen Taylor, Daily Record reports.
