An undercover operation targeted toward people trying to lure children into sexual activity online has led to the arrests of four men, authorities in Middlesex County said. "Operation Cruel Summer" is a multi-agency sting between the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, US Secret Service, Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, and various local police departments. A deejay told Jersey City police that a pair of masked men robbed him at gunpoint in his car of $100,000 worth of jewelry following a gig. The deejay told police he was jacked near the intersection of Summit and Newark avenues, up the street from Journal Square, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9. One of two men who forced their way into motel rooms and robbed prostitutes and their customers in Secaucus was seized by police, authorities announced Friday. Kendall Smith, 32, of Jersey City and a second man committed at least three violent robberies beginning May 17 at the La Quinta Hotel, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
