Man Fatally Stabbed In Newark: Police A man was found fatally stabbed in Newark on the morning of Friday, July 5, authorities said. At 3:30 a.m., police found the unresponsive man suffering from stab wounds at Magazine and Ferry Street in the Ironbound section of the city, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. He was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m., Stephens and Frage said. The identity of the man is being withheld pending formal identification, Stephens and Frage said. The man was found dead by police at 7 a.m. on Magazine Street in Newark, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force is investigating, the spokesman said. The identity of the victim has not been released.

1,000-Pound Shark Pinged Off NJ Coast A 1,000-pound shark was tracked off the New Jersey coast last month. Ironbound, who measure 12-feet 4-inches long, was tracked April 28 in South Jersey, but as of May 9 was swimming along the shores of North Carolina.   Ironbound is named after West Ironbound Island near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, where he was first tagged in 2019.  He is 53 white shark SPOT-tagged by OCEARCH in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.
