Three People Conspired To Fake Life Insurance Policies: Hudson County Prosecutor
Three Queens residents were arrested and charged over the past month, with creating phony life insurance policies in Hudson County, authorities said.
Auditya Ramotar, 69, in his role as a license life insurance provider, fraudulently obtained two life insurance policies for an individual without their consent, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Leona Ramroop, a 58-year-old phlebotomist, generated falsified medical records to support fraudulent claims that would benefit accounts associated with Ramotar and Bhogewattie Ramotar, a 57-year-old Queens resident, Suarez said.

A 59-year-old Warren County woman who made a false police report and filed a bogus insurance claim about a stolen pickup truck has been charged, authorities said.
Silvana Saleh, of Rose Lane in Hackettstown, told officers that her 2012 Chevy pickup truck was stolen from her barn when she was gone sometime between Friday, April 29 and Sunday, May 1, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release with local officials on Friday, June 3.
The truck was subsequently entered in the national crime information center as stolen.

Dozens Of Bogus NJ Insurance Claims Filed By 2 Women: AG
Two women are accused of submitting dozens of fraudulent health insurance claims in New Jersey, authorities said.
The women were indicted for allegedly submitting the fake claims to Aflac for medical treatment that they did not receive, according to Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin.
Hassanah Todd, 33, of Newark, N.J. and Shirell Todd, 32, of High Point, NC, were indicted on charges of conspiracy, insurance fraud, theft by deception, and falsifying or tampering with records, Plotkin said.
The indictment was returned by a grand jury on Thursday, May 12.

Three alleged rideshare drivers were arrested in New Jersey on insurance fraud charges, authorities said.
Muhammad Khan, 21, Haq Khan, 24, and Yasir Raza, 34, have each been accused of collecting insurance money from ridesharing apps such as Uber and Lyft, for car accidents that never happened, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The alleged drivers told the rideshare companies that the accidents occurred in a 2018 Tesla, which they claim was previously damaged in another accident, the prosecutor said. They say an insurance company determined the damage was a "total loss."

A 34-year-old New Jersey man was charged with theft after having more than a dozen vehicles towed and junked using bogus insurance papers, authorities said.
Anthony Greene, of Orange, walked up to older model cars parked on Essex County streets and collected their vehicle identification numbers from Oct. 22, 2021, to Nov. 30, 2021, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
