Update: 87-Year-Old Bergen Man Stabbed, Bludgeoned, Drowned By Son, Police Charge
UPDATE: An unemployed Franklin Lakes man stabbed, bludgeoned and drowned his 87-year-old father in their home, then went to the police station to confess to the murder, according to a report outlining the horrific assault.
David Allen Hagal, 60, was charged with murder and illegal weapons possession in the brutal murder of his 87-year-old father.
Borough police rushed to the home, found the body of George J. Hagal and took David Allen Hagal, 60, into custody shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.

Ridgefield Man Shot In Hawthorne, Local Resident Charged
A 32-year-old Ridgefield man was shot in Hawthorne over the weekend, said authorities who made an arrest.
The victim was treated at the scene and didn’t require further medical treatment following the 10:37 p.m. shooting on Wagner Place near Midland Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 16, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Hawthorne Police Chief James W. Knepper said.

Crackdown Busts 6 With Illegal Weapons Last Weekend In Newark: Police
Six Newark residents were busted with illegal weapons over the weekend as part of a city crackdown that began last December.
Four of those arrests were in the South Ward and two were in the East Ward, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
The following men were arrested Saturday, April 2 in the South Ward, according to O'Hara:
Alfuquan A. McNair, 29, of Washington, NJ; Elijah Harden, 31, of East Orange; and a 17-year-old male from Irvington. Each suspect faces charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, among other charges.

A Sussex County man who was once stabbed in a biker bar brawl was found with an assortment of illegal weapons and ammo, along with white supremacist and racially-charged propaganda, after he crashed his van, federal authorities said.
NJ State Police said they spotted some of the arsenal in a white Chevy Express van driven by Joseph Rubino, 57, of Lafayette Township, after it crashed into a tree off Route 80 in Allamuchy on July 24.
