NJ Transit, Amtrak Service Resumes After Power Outage, Brush Fire
Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said. Pedestrian Pinned Under Mail Truck In North Bergen: Sources
A 60-year-old West New York woman suffered a collapsed lung after being pinned under a USPS truck in North Bergen Tuesday night, Jan. 30, sources tell Daily Voice. The off-duty USPS driver was turning left from 45th Street onto the Bergen Turnpike when he struck the woman crossing from west to east. Once the driver felt the impact, he didn't know if he should keep driving or stop his truck. A 23-year-old driver was going more than 100 mph in a crash that left three people dead earlier this week in Jersey City, authorities said. Ziyang Wang, of Jersey City, was behind the wheel of a BMW X5 M0i that struck a Kia Amanti driven by 26-year-old Dylan Weidenfeld head-on, on Paterson Plank Road around 12:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16.
