A 23-year-old woman stabbed her 27-year-old friend-turned-foe multiple times inside of a North Jersey liquor store Friday, Oct. 28, the victim's dad told police. The victim was at Mayfair Liquors on North Broad Street in Hillside when she began arguing with Daja Harris, who was there with two other females and two other males waiting outside around 9 p.m., Hillside police said. 3 Gunmen In Hillside Bar Fight Charged, Only 1 In Custody
Two of three gunman have been charged in a gunfight that erupted at a Union County bar earlier this week, authorities announced. Kaseem M. Sutton, 44, of Springfield, remains hospitalized while Quentin D. Williams, 49, of Hillside, was being sought by police in connection with the incident at Tanky's Bar & Grill on Wednesday, April 21, Police Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. One man was in critical condition following a gunfight that erupted outside a Union County bar, authorities said. Officers responding to a report of a shooting at Tanky's Bar & Grill on Long Avenue in Hillside learned that three men were involved in a gunfight outside the bar shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, Hillside Police Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. NJ Man Dies Trying To Light Fire Pit, Police Say
A 56-year-old Union County man died while trying to light a fire pit but instead sparked an explosion that may have killed him, local police said. Officers arriving at the home on Warwick Road in Hillside found the man with burns covering nearly 75 percent of his body just before 4 p.m. Monday, Hillside Police Det. Natalie Ogonowski said. The man likely added an unknown accelerant to light the fire pit, causing an explosion, Ogonowki said.

A 22-year-old Union County man has been arrested in connection with an assault robbery of a PlayStation earlier this month, police said. Adrien Doudley, of Union, 22, is charged with a second-degree robbery and third-degree theft for a Jan. 7 Hillside incident, Hillside Police Det. Natalie Ogonowski said. A Newark man who broke into a Hillside home and stole valuables was found a week later with prescription pills, authorities said. Marquill D. Wiggins of Newark, 25, broke into a Maple Avenue home through an open basement window and stole two TVs, several boxes of sneakers and crash, before fleeing around 8:30 p.m. Sept. 23, Hillside police chief Vincent Ricciardi said. Hillside police are investigating a targeted shooting that they say was a result of a prior dispute. The incident was reported around 9:10 p.m. Thursday at Schleifer Road and Virginia Street, Hillside Det. Sgt. Natalie Ogonowski said. The victim did not sustain any injuries, Ogonowski said. : Woman Walking On Highway Killed By Car In Hillside, Police Say
A woman walking on Route 22 died after after being hit by a car Thursday night in Hillside, authorities confirmed Friday. Al Mujadilah Baxter, 50, of Newark, was struck around 5:45 on the eastbound side of the highway and pronounced dead en route to the hospital, Hillside Police Detective Natalie Ogonowski said. It was not immediately clear why Baxter was walking on the highway. The incident occurred at Bloy Street, and closed all lanes for several hours due to the investigation.

Hillside Pursuit Ends In Irvington Crash, Suspect Flees On Foot
A driver who led police on a pursuit through two counties struck a vehicle before crashing near a local home and fleeing through yards, reports say. The Sunday morning chase began after the driver ignored a Hillside police officer attempting to pull them over and sped away, RLS Media reports. The suspect continued into Irvington where they hit another car at the Wolf Place and Naden Avenue intersection around 9:35 a.m., the report says.
