Three Cuban nationals from out of the area were busted by a Mahwah police officer who stopped their tractor on Route 17 and found a loaded gun, cocaine and more, authorities said.
Officer Nicole DiPasquale stopped the Peterbilt truck for multiple motor vehicle violations on the southbound highway shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, April 27, Lt. Michael Blondin said.

A 43-year-old Elmwood Park man who was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Fairfield over the weekend was found to be in possession of a handgun without a permit, authorities said.
At 12:35 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, police responded to a two-car crash on Passaic Avenue in front of Franklin Steakhouse, officers said. Hackensack Man Charged With Pointing Gun At Victim's Head In Front Of Child
A Hackensack man was charged with pointing a gun at a victim's head with a child present during a domestic dispute.
Starlyn Delgado Reinoso, 31, was sent to the Bergen County Jail early last Friday, Nov. 18, following the late-afternoon incident on Lehigh Street the day before, records show.
He remained held in the jail on Wednesday, Nov. 23, when a Superior Court judge in Hackensack ordered his release, with conditions, pending trial.

An ex-con from Philadelphia tossed a gun with a high-capacity magazine onto a roof while being chased by detectives in Paterson, authorities said.
It began as Detectives Kenneth Kerwin, John Traynor and Wojciech Kulbabinski approached a group gathered in front of a convenience store at the corner of Madison and Essex streets, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

Route 17 Stop: Paramus Police Seize Illegal Gun, Hollow-Point Ammo From Out-Of-State Pair
Two out-of-state men were carrying a gun without a serial number, a large-capacity magazine and three dozen hollow-point bullets when they were stopped by Paramus police, authorities said.
Their 2008 Mazda was swerving on southbound Route 17 when Officer Matthew Orefice stopped it near Linwood Avenue, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.
The vehicle also had extremely "over-tinted" windows, the chief added.

Darick Nollett, 32, who lives in Cumberland County near the Delaware Bay, caught the attention of law enforcement when he bought a “fuel filter” – a device commonly used to silence firearms -- from China, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
