A Paterson street that's had more than its share of late-night fires in multi-family houses had another last night. Flames began quickly spreading on the second floor of a vacant 2½-story building on Lafayette Street just off Rosa Parks Boulevard shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, responders said. A man and woman were found shot dead -- along with a gun -- in an SUV parked on a Paterson street Friday afternoon, responders said. The bodies were found in an older-model Chevy Traverse with Connecticut license plates parked on Getty Avenue between two strip clubs down the road from St. Joseph's University Medical Center at 11:40 a.m. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Two New York City corrections officers surrendered Friday in connection with a shooting in Paterson that authorities said was committed by a Union County man. Authorities charged Rasheim Williams, 26, of Brooklyn, and Keith Hood, 29, of Staten Island each with weapons possession.
