A Morris County moving company worker who pulled a handgun on a coworker during a dispute with was found with ecstasy, authorities charged. Jason J. Jackson began arguing with another worker at a Washington Township home when things turned physical just before 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, local police said. A passenger who drew a police sergeant’s attention by flicking cigar ashes out an SUV’s window contributed to the discovery of a loaded, stolen handgun and $1,665 in suspected drug proceeds, authorities said. HEROES: Paterson police averted a potential tragedy when they quickly seized a suicidal Wayne woman who reached for a loaded gun as they approached her, authorities said. Man Who Robbed Orange Phone Store While Wearing Wig Sentenced
An Ohio man who once took part in a violent criminal spree in Essex County in the early 1990s was sentenced to 300 months in prison for robbing a mobile phone store in Orange, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said. Frederick White, 47, had earlier pleaded guilty to robbery under the federal Hobbs Act as well as brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. Police: Armed Trio Sought In Clifton Home Invasion
Detectives were searching for three bandits who forced their way into a Clifton home and robbed the occupants at gunpoint. The Knapp Avenue victims told police the robbers fled toward Randolph Avenue after the 12:30 a.m. break-in Wednesday. A cellphone and some jewelry were among the valuables taken, responders said. Authorities suspect the masked bandit who this weekend robbed a Route 23 Delta gas station in Wayne where a horrific heroin-involved crash killed three people earlier this year also held up a Pequannock Delta station two weeks ago.
