Firefighters responded to a fire at The Swan Motel on Tuesday, Nov. 28, Linden police said. The fire was on the second floor inside a motel room and started at 10:15 p.m., police said. Nobody was injured after a two-alarm fire began in the basement of a home in Linden on Monday, Oct. 30, police said. Firefighters and police responded to the 500 block of Maple Avenue on reports of a structure fire and discovered the basement blaze in a multi-family home, police said. A large fire engulfed a home in Linden on Friday morning, May 26, authorities said. Everyone was able to evacuate from the home on the 1100 block of Forest Drive, Captain Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police Department said. One person suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene, Guenther said. It is believed the fire began in the yard and spread into the home, Guenther said. The Glenpointe complex in Teaneck was evacuated after a gas can with a rag in it was found near a generator, authorities said Friday. "We learned during the investigation that it may have been left there by a maintenance worker for one of the building tenants," Police Chief Glenn O'Reilly said.
