Newark Airport Reimagined: Plans To Transform NJ Airport Into World-Class Gateway Revealed
It's Newark Airport like you've never seen it before. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has revealed plans to upgrade the airport with hopes of transforming it into a "world-class getaway" with modernized terminals. It's called the EWR Development Plan, and it calls for a complete upgrade of Terminal B to match the newly renovated Terminal A, an overhaul of the outdated roadway network, and a redesign of the delay-prone aircraft taxiway network. Long-Vacant North Jersey Movie Theater Finally Getting Its Happily Ever-After
After several years of vacancy, a Montclair movie theater will soon be brought back to life. The Tudor-style Bellevue Theater in Upper Montclair has sat vacant since the prior operator's lease ended 2017, but at a meeting on Monday, June 10, redevelopment plans were unanimously approved. Film Studio Part Of $1 Billion NJ Waterfront Project Will Be Funded By $4.7M Grant
A movie production studio in Carteret got a financial boost from New Jersey through a $4.7 million state grant. It's part of a $1 billion, 10-acre redevelopment project, according to Carteret Mayor Daniel J. Reiman. The project includes a 1.2 million-square-foot movie production studio complex called "Carteret Stages." Five grants totaling $9.5 million were awarded throughout the state as part of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority's Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Program. Hollywood isn't where the motion picture industry got its start — that would be Fort Lee. And the borough finally has the Barrymore Film Center & Museum to honor that. The newly-built facility will open Friday, Oct. 21, marking the beginning of unique film programming in the region. Lionsgate Production Studio Expected To Bring 600 Jobs To NJ's Largest City
The largest city in New Jersey is about to get some major movie attention and it's going to need a big crew to keep it afloat. Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Governor Phil Murphy recently announced that Lionsgate will be opening a brand new 12-acre TV and film complex in Newark, worth more than $125 million.
