Man Poses As Nurse To Kidnap, Sexually Abuse Women In NJ, NY: Feds
A Hudson County man who posed as a nurse on Facebook and the Hinge dating app kidnapped, assaulted and sexually abused several women in New Jersey and New York, federal authorities charged. Herman Calvin Brightman, 30, abducted one of the women and her 2-year-old child in the Bronx and brought them to his West New York home at knifepoint, said Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Philadelphia native and AMC CEO Adam Aron says he was the victim of an "elaborate criminal extortion" scheme last year, he announced Thursday morning, Oct. 12, in a social media post. Aron made the revelation after Semafor reported that the CEO had sent "sexually explicit images and messages" to a woman who later tried to hold them as blackmail. A Bergenfield man must spend the next 16 months in federal prison for posting naked and semi-naked photos of nearly two dozen victims and then sending the links to their families and friends. Rino Diamante, 26, continued the harassment for nearly four years, beginning in January 2016, stalking some of his victims on Facebook, federal authorities said. A former Montclair resident who is family friends with Donald Trump's family was arrested and accused of cyberstalking three people and harassing two others. The criminal complaint against Ken Kurson -- who is close friends with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner -- was filed last week in the public corruption unit of the U.S. attorney's Brooklyn office. A Bergenfield man admitted in federal court that he posted naked and semi-naked photos online that he claimed were of nearly 24 victims and then sent links to those pics to their families and friends.
