Young Child Airlifted To Hospital After Near-Drowning In Bergen Backyard Pool
A young child was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center after nearly drowning in a backyard pool in Mahwah late Wednesday afternoon. The boy, 3, was breathing on his own but unconscious when first responders arrived at the Wyckoff Avenue home near the Ramsey border. He regained consciousness, however, and was picked up by AirMed 1 at the nearby George Washington School field, witnesses said. No further information was immediately available.

A child was airlifted after sliding under a moving car in a Philadelphia area sledding accident, authorities said. Upper Merion police and EMS were called to the 100 block of Arden Road around 4:40 p.m. Friday, police said. A 10-year-old Berks County boy was shot and killed during target practice on Thanksgiving Day, authorities said. Responders carried the boy out of the woods to an ambulance after he was shot near his home about 100 feet off Chestnut Street in Hereford Township around 1:30 p.m., they said. Englewood Girl, 11, Injured In SUV Accident
An 11-year-old Englewood girl was hospitalized following a vehicle accident Wednesday morning, authorities said. The child ran into the street and into the side of a passing Honda CRV on Durie Avenue near Tenafly Road around 8 a.m., Police Lt. Fred Pulice said. A fast-acting mom rescued her 14-month-old son after he fell into a manhole at a North Jersey park on Thursday morning. A fast-acting Jersey Shore police officer smashed a window of a car to rescue a child accidentally locked inside by his mother, and then offered to cover the costs of a replacement window.
