Child Reunited With Mother After Abduction In Newark: Police
A 3-year-old child is in stable condition after he was abducted in Newark on Tuesday, July 4, authorities said. At 9:03 a.m., police responded to Arlington Street at William Street, upon a report a man assaulting a woman and then stealing her car, while her 3-year-old child was inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The child was later reunited with his mother by a family member who drove the child back to the scene, Fragé said. A mother experienced every parent's worst nightmare when her car was taken with her infant inside in Jersey City on Friday, June 16, authorities said. A 16-year-old Newark teenager entered a 2023 white Porsche Macan at 30 Montgomery St. and demanded a woman exit the vehicle, Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
