Sayreville police responded to The Knights Inn in Sayreville in response to a distressed family member staying at the motel who called 9-1-1 saying that their family dogs were attacking a 10-year-old boy around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. SUV Spins Out, Hits Concrete Barrier In Sunday Morning Route 3 Crash: Police A child was injured in a crash early Sunday morning, Oct. 6 on Route 3 in Rutherford, police said. A Honda CRV occupied by a family of four, two adults and two children, spun out and struck the concrete barrier during the crash with a 2022 Mercedes Benz operated by a 33-year-old woman, Rutherford Police Lt. Craig Capoano said. The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the local westbound lanes right at the Clifton border. 6-Year-Old Child, Man Shot In Newark A man in his 20s and a 6-year-old child were hospitalized after being shot on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in Newark, authorities said. Police responding to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of South Orange Avenue found the victims, who were taken to University Hospital for treatment around 7 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available.

Police turned to the public Tuesday for help investigating the shooting, as well as another a few days later. They don't appear related, authorities said.
