A 60-year-old Montclair lawyer has been convicted of murder in the 2018 death of the mother of his 6-year-old daughter, authorities announced.

Two Brooklyn residents were arrested in Bayonne for using gift cards to skim money from ATMs, police said.
Neculai Candet, 31, and Madalina Balmus, 41, were taken into custody on Friday, April 28, following a weeklong investigation, police said.
On Friday, April 21, a man reported four withdrawals from an ATM at a CVS, at either 560 Avenue C or Goldsborough Drive, totaling $560, police said. Later that day, two more people reported $200 and $343 withdrawn from their bank accounts, respectively, police said.

'I Forgot': Traveler Nabbed Trying To Tote Loaded Gun, Ammo Onto Flight At LGA, TSA Says
A traveler was caught trying to board a flight with a loaded gun and 100 boxed bullets in his carry-on at LaGuardia Airport, authorities said.
The checkpoint X-ray unit triggered an alarm that led to the discovery on Tuesday, April 25, said Lisa Farbstein, a spokesperson for the Transporation Security Administration.
The .22-caliber gun was loaded with 10 rounds and came with two boxes of 50 bullets each, Farbstein said.

Arrests have been made in the shooting death of 22-year-old Emmanuelle Florestal, which occurred last October, authorities in Union County said.
Ahmad Conde, a 19-year-old Elizabeth resident, and Ducarmel Georges, a 19-year-old Brooklyn resident, have each been charged with first degree murder, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said.
