CPR, Defib, Gator Used For Victim Of Medical Episode In Saddle River County Park
An off-duty nurse helped save the life of a 69-year-old bicyclist who was knocked unconscious in a fall at a Bergen County park, authorities said. Jacqueline Polentarutti was conducting CPR when Glen Rock and Paramus police and Bergen County sheriff's officers arrived at the bike path in Saddle River County Park near the Paramus border last Wednesday, Aug. 2. 19-Year-Old Bicyclist Holding Onto Window Of Moving Car Dies In Middlesex County Crash
A 19-year-old bicyclist from Middlesex County was killed in a fatal weekend crash, authorities said. Christopher Pina of Spotswood was pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday night's crash, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Monroe Police Chief Michael J. Biennas said in a statement on Tuesday. Pina left a house at Avenue J in Monroe and was heading toward Avenue K Park when the accident occurred at 11:23 p.m., they said. 79-Year-Old Hoboken Woman Killed While Riding Bike Was Prominent Quilter
In March 2004, Margaret "Peggy" McGeary, a Hoboken woman who was working as a sign-maker, was on foot when she was hit by an SUV. Incredibly, the then-64-year-old suffered no broken bones and was able to leave the hospital that day (although she would spend several months in physical therapy). McGeary's injuries did leave her unable to continue working as a sign maker, but did not prevent her from pursuing her passion, quilting and sewing, as a full-time career.
