Man Intentionally Set Fire To Bayonne Home: Police
A 39-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Sept. 17 with setting a home ablaze in the city in July, authorities said. On the early morning of Monday, July 22, officers and firefighters responded to West 32nd Street on a report of a structure fire, the Bayonne Police Department said. The residents were not home and no injuries were reported, police said. A follow-up investigation conducted by the City of Bayonne Police Department Detective Bureau in conjunction with the City of Bayonne Fire Department determined that fire was incendiary in nature, police said. …

Man Critically Injured In Bayonne Fire: Prosecutor
A man was critically injured in a fire in Bayonne on the late afternoon of Monday, Sept. 16, authorities said. At 5:20 p.m., the Bayonne Fire Department responded to 167 West 9th St. after receiving multiple reports of a fire, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The fire was discovered in the basement, the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management said. The fire was declared under control at 5:46 p.m., OEM said. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Hudson County Regional ArsonTask Force and the Bayonne Fire Department, Suarez said.

Fallen Jet Skiers Rescued From Bayonne's New York Bay
A pair of jet skiers who had fallen off and were being swept away by the current were rescued from the New York Bay on Sunday, July 10. The call came in around 1:45 p.m. in Bayonne, and the couple was found by the Bayonne Cruiseport. Members of Royal Caribbean and Port Authority of NY/NJ tossed life things to the pair, trying to make it toward the shore. A Bayonne Fire Department marine unit put a rescue swimmer in the water, and firefighters were able to remove both victims safely. Worker Dies In Bayonne Industrial Accident
A worker died in an industrial accident over the weekend in Bayonne, authorities said. First responders found the man seriously injured at the eastern edge of the former Military Ocean Terminal at the Bayonne Dry Dock, around 9:10 a.m. Sunday, the City's emergency management office said. Medics from McCabe Ambulance and the Bayonne Fire Department performed CPR on the victim, who was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center. The unidentified worker later died of his injuries. Man Accused Of Setting Two Vehicles On Fire In Bayonne
A 40-year-old Bayonne man was arrested Saturday on a charge of arson, police said. Jamil J. Golson, 40, was taken into custody at 19th Street and Avenue C on a warrant issued in connection with a fire Sept. 19. Around 2 a.m. that morning, the Bayonne Fire Department found two vehicles engulfed in flames at 27th and Broadway. After putting the fire out, investigators determined that cardboard boxes nearby had been set alight and the fire spread to the parked vehicles. Police investigators identified Golson as the person who started the fire.
