: Man Gunned Down At New Milford Apartments ID'd As Search For Killer Continues
A Long Island man who was gunned down at an apartment complex in New Milford last month is being laid to rest this coming weekend as the hunt for his killer continued. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella identified the victim shot in the head in the rear of the Bookchester Apartments in the 900 block of Boulevard on Nov. 26 as Jacques McDonald, 25, of Amityville. McDonald was taken in traumatic arrest to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m., roughly an hour after the call, the prosecutor said. Authorities: Long Island ID Thieves With Infant Had Stolen Gun, More In Lyndhurst Apartment
A Long Island couple ran an ID theft operation from a leased apartment in Lyndhurst where they'd just moved in with their 14-month-old daughter, authorities said following a raid there. Diamond Holder, 24, and Mohamed Konate, 26, both most recently of Amityville, NY, were found with bogus credit cards, fake driver's licenses and a stolen gun when they were busted, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. It began with the theft of a package for another resident at the Chubb Avenue complex, he said. A Long Island man was stabbed to death by his son while he participated in a Zoom meeting, authorities said. Dwight Powers, 72, was in the Zoom Room with an estimated 20 other participants when 32-year-old Thomas Scully-Powers attacked him just after noon Thursday at an Amityville apartment complex, Suffolk County police said. Four New Jersey residents were among 27 people arrested for their roles in a multimillion-dollar scheme to commit bribery and a no-fault insurance scam. The multi-state jurisdictional investigation that originated in Westchester County led to the arrests, 23 of whom were taken into custody in New York and New Jersey on Thursday, Nov. 7, with other suspects arrested in North Carolina, and Florida.
