Jersey Shore Pawn Shop Owner Tied To Shooting Deaths Of JC Officer, 3 Others Gets Fed Pen Time
A Jersey Shore pawn shop owner who was arrested in connection with the December 2019 shooting deaths of a Jersey City police detective and three civilians was sent to federal prison Tuesday for 18 months. A handwritten note found in the pocket of one of the two assailants who were shot dead by police led investigators to Ahmed A-Hady, a 36-year-old ex-con. It contained a telephone number ending in 4115 and the address of the pawn shop, they said. A-Hady had been convicted in 2012 of trying to obtain prescription drugs by fraud, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm, records show. …

Federal Judge Orders Pawn Shop Owner Tied To Jersey City Shooters Held 'Till Bail Hearing
UPDATE: A pawn shop owner arrested in connection with last week's shootout in Jersey City remained in federal custody following a brief appearance Monday in Newark. A U.S. District Court judge scheduled a bail hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday for Ahmed A-Hady, 35, of Keyport, who's charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Feds: Investigation Of JC Shooting Leads To Weapons Trove, Ex-Con Pawn Shop Owner
A note found in the pocket of one of the two dead Jersey City shooters following last week’s gun battle led the FBI to a collection of weapons similar to those used in the attack, authorities said. A search of the shop owned and operated by ex-con Ahmed A-Hady, 35, of Keyport, turned up three AR-15-style assault rifles, among 13 weapons in all, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said.
