The Jersey City movie theatre was ordered closed by a city inspector on Wednesday, Sept. 27 due to a rat infestation, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
The theater owner was cited for the presence of rodents and multiple outer openings allowing a rodents entry source, Wallace-Scalfione said.
The theater will owe a $100 inspection fee once all of the violations are abated and must be exterminated once per week going forward, Wallace-Scalfione said.
A follow up inspection will take place on Friday, Sept. 29th and an inspector will determine next steps depending on the findings and if the conditions are rectified., Wallace-Scalfione said.
