About $10,000 and a loaded .380 caliber handgun were taken in the burglary at Goodfellas deli on County Avenue Sept. 16, police said. Detectives canvassing the neighborhood and examining evidence at the scene identified a suspect, George Waddleton, 49.

Waddleton was arrested Wednesday at home in Jersey City with assistance from Jersey City police, Miller said.

Miller also said a search of Waddleton’s vehicle turned up synthetic drugs, hypodermic needles and burglary tools that may have been used in the Goodfellas break-in.

He has been charged with burglary, theft of movable property, possession of a weapon while prohibited, possession of burglary tools, possession of a synthetic cannabinoid and possession of hypodermic needles.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any additional information regarding Waddleton is asked to contact the Secaucus Police Detective Division at (201)330-2052 or detectivedivision@secaucus.net.
