Police: 7 People Beat Bayonne Man In Daytime Robbery

Approximately seven people attacked a Bayonne man as he was walking down the street Monday, robbing him of his cell phone, authorities said.

The group approached the man from behind and began punching him in the face on East 26th Street around 4:40 p.m., Lt. Eric Amato of the Bayonne Police Department said.

They knocked him to the ground and removed the phone from his pocket.

The man was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The incident was still under investigation Monday.
