Upman has been battling Leptomeningeal Disease, a rare complication in which late-stage cancer cells spread to your cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. She recently spent her 33rd birthday in the intensive care unit and has undergone brain surgery, chemotherapy and received immunotherapy and proton radiation.
A fundraiser has been set up to assist Upman, her husband, Michael and her son, Jett. As of Wednesday, Sept. 14, more than $127,537 has been raised.
"Britt is a beautiful person inside and out," Nicole Molesphini, who organized the fundraiser said. "She is an amazing mom...and wife., Mike. She is also an incredible daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many. Britt celebrated her son’s first birthday in May and would do anything to have more time with him and her family. She is loved by so many and has been there for so many of us."
