Man Had 5-6 Beers, Drank While Driving In NJ Crash That Killed NHL Star, Brother: Affidavit
A Woodstown man reportedly admitted to having about a half-dozen beers before the crash that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, arrest records said. Sean Higgins, 43, was facing several charges including two counts of assault by auto, according to court records. He was accused of striking the NHL star and his brother while they were riding bicycles in Oldmans Township on Thursday, Aug. 29. Man Killed In Newark Shooting: Prosecutor
A 33-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the early morning of Monday, Sept. 2, authorities said. Darryl Craft was found unconscious and unresponsive near 139 Chadwick Ave. at 12:10 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Belligerent Secaucus Driver Denies Wrongdoing After Slamming Car Into Utility Pole: Police
A 38-year-old Secaucus man was arrested after crashing his car in Bergen County then becoming belligerent and denying that he was the driver, police said. Alex Hernandez was standing outside of the 2024 Kia sedan that had suffered heavy damage after crashing into a utility pole on the 200 block of Park Avenue in Lyndhurst just before 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, Lyndhurst Police Detective Lt. A 32-year-old New York man is facing charges in Paramus, NJ for pretending he was held at knifepoint in one location when, in fact, he was burglarizing another, police said. A 62-year-old Sussex County first responder was killed when his UTV was struck by a pickup truck in upstate New York on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 1, authorities said.
