Man Gets Out Of Car, Killed By Tractor-Trailer On NJ Turnpike, State Police Say
A Monroe Township man was killed when he got out of his car and was hit by a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Michael Veisz, 40, died in the crash on Interstate 95 North in East Brunswick on Friday, Aug. 23, a state police spokesperson said. Authorities have identified the three people killed in a fiery crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick earlier this month. Charisse Nelson-Bailey, 24, Daniel Vida, 28, and Maria Passalaris, 25, all died in the Friday, April 12 crash near Ridge Road, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Four people died and one person was left critical in a crash involving two cars and a tractor trailer early Saturday, July 23 in Newark, authorities said. A car appeared to have rear-ended a tractor-trailer then burst into flames, spreading to the other car and the trailer around 4:20 a.m. on Frelinghuysen Avenue near Evergreen Avenue, Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave said.
