Police Seek Public's Help In Fatal Hit-Run Crash On New Jersey Turnpike
Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone is seeking the public’s help in the investigation of a hit and run that occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 23, on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound truck lane. At approximately 8:36 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, New Jersey State Police were notified of a deceased victim on the turnpike in East Brunswick. Police found Giuseppe Zuccarello, 78, of Queens, New York. Zuccarello had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Ciccone said. A 63-year-old man has been charged in a Central Jersey hit-and-run crash that killed a 14-year-old boy on Friday, July 7, authorities said. UPDATE: The boy has been identified in a financial campaign as 14-year-old Bryan Barbosa, of South River. Michael Arena, of South River, was behind the wheel of a white work van when he struck the boy riding his bike around 4:20 p.m. on Whiteland and Russell avenues, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and SRPD Chief Mark Tinitigan said. Authorities have released the identity of the man struck and killed by a New Jersey State Trooper on Route 1 last week. Donelle Miles, 50, of Plainsboro, was struck on the southbound side of the highway near Raymond Road in South Brunswick around 5:55 a.m. Nov. 11, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A 15-year-old was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday on Route 35.
