Coyote Attack, Sightings Close Two North Jersey Parks
In the wake of a coyote attack and coyotes being spotted on the prowl, two North Jersey parks are closed to the public. On Saturday, July 1, the Town of Westfield announced it is closing Brightwood Park after an aggressive coyote was spotted. The Westfield Police Department and Westfield Regional Health Department are investigating and no injuries have occurred, the town said. What is the mystery animal found in Fairfield Township, Adams County, is a question that has perplexed Pennsylvanians for weeks — but now the DNA test results are in! The mystery animal was first found when Christina Eyth followed snowy footprints she saw outside her door thinking they would lead her to her neighbor's loose dog on Jan. 18. The animal was taken to Wildlife Works-Mount Pleasant for treatment and testing, but it escaped supposedly before the tests and care were complete. Coyote 'Chasing People' In Middletown
Police in Central Jersey were responding to reports of a coyote chasing people. Middletown police were called about 10:30 a.m. about a coyote "running in the streets," hat was suspected to be rabid because of its erratic behavior. After the coyote ran off into the woods, police were awaiting the arrival of animal control officers ;near Mills Avenue in the Port Monmouth section of town, authorities said. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES
