Former NJ Fire Chief, Cop Handcuffed Employees, Forced Sexual Contact On Them: AG
A 53-year-old former Toms River resident was indicted on charges he forced non-consensual sexual contact upon employees he supervised and colleagues, authorities announced Thursday, Sept. 3.
Robert Sinnott, was previously the fire chief of the Silverton Volunteer Fire Company in Toms River and retired Island Heights police officer, Attorney General Jennifer Davenport said. He was previously charged with criminal sexual contact and official misconduct, Davenport said.
He now faces charges of criminal sexual contact, official misconduct, and pattern of official misconduct, Davenport said.

A motorcyclist refused to stop for a police officer and instead rode recklessly to get away, authorities in Bergen County said.
Edgewater Police Officer Robert Jacobson tried to stop the motorcycle while on patrol Monday, Aug. 17, after finding it had an expired registration and its registered owner had a suspended license, Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said.
The rider refused to stop and began riding recklessly, eluding the officer, according to the chief.

A Connecticut man accused of taking an "upskirt" photo of a woman shopping at a Bergen County TJ Maxx was arrested in New York and extradited to New Jersey, authorities said.
Edgewater patrol officers responded to the TJ Maxx at 477 River Road at approximately 6:31 p.m. Friday, July 10, on a report of a suspicious person taking pictures, Police Chief Donald Martin said.
Officers determined a man had taken an "upskirt" photograph of a woman who was shopping inside the store, Martin said.

A Bergen County man was carrying a loaded handgun reported stolen in Ohio 15 years ago when police responded to a dispute at a borough home, authorities said.
