A 9-year-old girl who was strangled to death in New York begged to get out of a trip to Ethiopia with her father, who is accused of killing her, according to testimony heard Tuesday, July 28.
Melina Frattolin instead traveled through New York and Connecticut with her dad, Luciano, for multiple weeks in the summer of 2025, according to authorities.

Gambling Resumes At AC Casino After Burst Pipe

The Atlantic City casino announced Tuesday, July 28, it had resumed gaming operations following a burst pipe at the casino on Monday, July 27.
"Ocean Casino Resort has resumed all gaming operations, including slots, tables games and sports betting," the casino said in a statement. "Ocean thanks its dedicated team members, partners, and the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement for their swift response to restore operations.”
The burst pipe caused gaming to be canceled for the day, including the $30,000 Slot Tournament.

At 8:15 pm., officers responded to the 20 block of Amboy Avenue and found a crowd of 20 to 30 people gathered in the roadway, Florence Township police said. A trip to one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated shorelines has turned into a mystery with a family waiting for answers.
Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, 44, of Cary, North Carolina, was last seen at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada, on Wednesday, July 22, according to the Royal Grenada Police Force.
