David Ringkamp, 43, was indicted by a grand jury, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Thursday, Dec. 19. Ringkamp was formerly a Union Beach resident. The collision happened near the intersection with Union Avenue at around 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Union Beach Officer Killed When He Struck Telephone Pole An off-duty Union Beach police officer was killed when he struck a telephone pole, authorities said.  Detective Cpl. Timothy Kelly, Jr., 29, died in the crash.  He was described as a "rising star"  by his department.  The single motor vehicle crash occurred at 1:57 a.m. on Sunday, July 17 on State Highway 36 West just past Grand Avenue, according to Atlantic Highlands police.  Police found a 2010 Honda Civic which had crashed into a telephone pole.  Police attempted lifesaving efforts but the driver was pronounced dead at the crash scene by paramedics. …

Union Beach Officer Killed In Crash Was 'Rising Star' The Union Beach Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Detective Cpl. Timothy Kelly, Jr., 29, died in an off-duty crash, his department said. His father also served as a UBPD officer. "Kelly was a rising star in the Union Beach Police Department, having been involved in many high profile and sensitive special operations with the FBI, DEA, MCPO, and BTF," UBPD said.  He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Alabama with a double major in History and Criminal Justice.  Details in the crash were not immediately clear.
