Roadside Miracle: First Responders Deliver Baby On Garden State Parkway A newborn girl named Amelia made a dramatic entrance into the world on the side of the Garden State Parkway with the help of Cape May County first responders. Upper Township paramedics and Seaville firefighters were called to the northbound side of the parkway at around 9:03 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, Seaville Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. A mother in labor had pulled over near milepost 21, unable to reach the hospital in time. School Bus Carrying Students Bursts Into Flames On Garden State Parkway Ten students and their bus driver were uninjured when their school bus burst into flames on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May County Wednesday, April 17, firefighters said. Firefighters and EMS units were dispatched to mile marker 20.8 south in Upper Township around 2:30 where the bus had erupted in flames, according to Seaville Fire Rescue. Heavy flames were shooting out of the bus when responders arrived, and all 10 students and the bus driver had already safely exited. A Honda traveling east on Route 631 (Tuckahoe Road), between Church and Butter roads, in the Marmora section of Upper Township crossed over the center line and struck a westbound Mercedes Benz at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, April 2, State Police said.
