The body of a 29-year-old man was recovered from a New Jersey lake more than 24 hours after the boat he was on capsized, police said. The Old Bridge man, who was not identified by name, was recovered by search teams on Prospertown Lake in Jackson Township just before 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz said. Jackson police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a capsized boat on the lake around 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, the chief said. Tractor Trailer Overturns, Becomes Wedged Under Overpass On NJ Turnpike
A portion of the NJ Turnpike was closed in Mount Laurel Tuesday morning, May 7 due to an overnight accident. A Kenworth tractor-trailer was heading southbound when it lost control, struck a guardrail and overturned at milepost 37 around 3:35 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver of the Kenworth suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

Human remains were found by a transportation department worker on Route 80, state police confirmed. The NJDOT worker was mowing the grass when the remains were found near the eastbound lanes on the right shoulder in the grass at milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy shortly after 12:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com. The remains were identified as those of a Black male, Marchan said. The cause of death is unknown. The incident is under investigation. Additional details were not released.

A 29-year-old Philadelphia driver died in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Sunday, July 24, authorities said. A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a South Jersey crash on Friday, authorities said. Brandon Agron was heading north on a Kawasaki motorcycle on Route 206 near Amboy Road when he was struck from behind by a 2016 Kia Sedan around 9:45 p.m., Bordentown Township police said. A Philadelphia woman died, and two others were injured in a South Jersey crash early Friday morning, authorities said. Lorraine Smith, 45, was in her Chevy Impala driving northbound on Route 42 near milepost 9.7 in Gloucester Township when she veered off the road and hit a tree around 3:30 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene while her two passengers, a 33-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old boy were taken to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries. The relationship between the three victims remains unknown.

Eight people were injured after a work van collided with a minivan on the Garden State Parkway In Atlantic County Tuesday afternoon, state police said. A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car on Route 80 early Tuesday morning, state police said. The girl ran into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle eastbound near milepost 45.3 in Parsippany-Troy Hills just before 3:30 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice.
