Salem County Roads Worker Settles Third Race Discrimination Lawsuit A Salem County road worker has won his third racial discrimination lawsuit against the county, according to a public records advocate. Grady Butts, who is black, sued Salem County in January 2022, alleging he was subjected to repeated verbal abuse and denied promotions because of his race.  That suit was settled on March 7 for $37,500, according to legal papers obtained by open records advocate John Paff.
